ACTING

Our drama classes for Group C students offer a more in-depth exploration of acting, refining techniques, and honing the art of storytelling. Perfect for those with existing skills and welcoming newcomers.

We focus on character dynamics, emotional journeys, and script analysis. Students learn to examine the motivations and psychology of characters and bring scripts to life with nuance and authenticity. The curriculum includes monologues and duologues, which allow students to engage in powerful dialogues and enhance their acting skills.

Central to our teaching philosophy is the art of improvisation. It equips students with the ability to think on their feet, adapt to dynamic scenarios, and embrace the spontaneity of the stage.

Each year, our curriculum includes an exciting gang project that incorporates the elements of music, dynamic movement, script analysis, and creative devised pieces. This annual endeavour allows students to collaboratively explore complex narratives, enhancing their understanding of storytelling and teamwork.

SINGING

Our singing lessons for Teen Group C focus on a comprehensive warm-up routine consisting of physical and vocal exercises to improve their singing skills. Our curriculum includes essential techniques such as proper breathing, posture, and diction. Additionally, we introduce students to a variety of music genres, including musical theatre, pop, and jazz, to expand their knowledge of music and singing. In order to enhance their singing abilities, we teach the group various techniques to help them better articulate, hit higher or lower notes, and emphasise the significance of proper breathing throughout a song. During each two-week session, the team focuses on learning one song. The first week is dedicated to learning the lyrics and melody, while the second week is spent analysing the song more closely.

Our mission is to foster a supportive and nurturing environment for our students to explore and develop their unique voice. We believe that our program will not only help improve their singing abilities but also cultivate their self-expression and confidence through music.

Teen Group Dance

DANCING

Dance classes for Group C pupils involve building students confidence, knowledge and understanding of dance techniques and recognition of basic compound steps, including Kicks, Leaps and Turns. The students work through a series of training exercises building strength, improving mobility and enhancing stability of the core.

Dance demands secure posture and placement to execute the technical stepscorrectly which requires pupils in group c who may have little dance background to slowly build technique and flexibility through warms ups, floor exercises and corner work.

Group C dance classes offer instruction in a range of styles including jazz, musical theatre and contemporary dance to broaden students’ performance skills.

Routines and combinations are practiced over a period of weeks, with a focus on coordination, timing and rhythm. Pupils receive hands-on guidance and feedback from the teacher, which is augmented by “Practice Prompts” and scoring tables. These tools help students to remember key points and identify areas for improvement.

While the classes are mainly teacher-led, student creativity and improvisation is introduced to help develop their unique style. Group C members are encouraged to build their own actions and combinations, promoting freedom of movement, artistry and performance. The ultimate goal is to create a class space where they can let themselves go through the power of dance and music.
