From a young age, I discovered my love for performing. Singing, acting, and dancing have always been at the heart of who I am. I knew early on that a career in the performing arts was my calling.
After finishing school, I pursued my passion by studying Performing Arts at Preston College, where I achieved a Triple Distinction Star Diploma. I later continued my training at The Arden School of Theatre, graduating with a 2:1 Bachelor of Arts degree in Musical Theatre. During my time there, I gained invaluable experience performing in numerous productions, including playing the lead role of Carmen in Fame the Musical. One of my proudest moments was the opportunity to perform on a West End stage.
Following university, I began my professional career as a singer and dancer for P&O Cruises, which later led to opportunities as a guest performer. I went on to perform internationally as part of a girl group, entertaining audiences all over the world and at festivals across the UK and Ireland. My most recent role in 2023 was performing In Avenue Q as the role of Gary Coleman which later I was honoured to receive a NODA award for ‘ Best Supporting Male Character’ in the North West.
In the early stages of my career, being of mixed heritage presented its own challenges within an industry that often relied heavily on typecasting. There were times when I didn’t seem to fit into the roles available either “too light” or “too dark” for certain parts. Thankfully, the industry has since become more inclusive and diverse, and that progress is something I hold close to my heart.
As a teacher, I am passionate about creating an environment where every child feels seen, confident, and proud of who they are. I strive to nurture not only their talent but also their self-belief helping them to embrace their individuality and shine both on and off the stage. Watching their hard work in rehearsals come to life on show days fills me with pride, it’s the most incredible feeling. It’s a privilege to inspire and mentor the next generation of performers.
In just a few weeks of working with Players, I’ve seen not only the immense talent within the school but also the warmth and sense of family that makes it so special. I’m truly proud to be part of the team and excited for the many moments ahead sitting in auditoriums as a proud teacher (and honorary mum) watching our children shine on stage.
