ACTING
I have always loved performing and at the age of seven, I became a pupil at Players Drama School where my love for performing arts only grew. After graduating at the age of sixteen, I was offered the the opportunity to become a ‘Big Sister’ on a Saturday; a role I had always looked up to as young pupil and always hoped I would be one day. Being a Big Sister meant that I was able to gain the experience of being a teaching assistant at a drama school whilst staying within the Players family.
I also continued my performance training at Runshaw where I completed the Level 3 Professional Performance Programme in Acting with a triple distinction star grade.
Girlguiding is also something I began from a young age; starting at Rainbows when I was five years old and continuing on to Brownies and Guides and eventually volunteered as a Leader at Rainbows. I did this for 10 years and after completing my educational years, I discovered that the two things I loved were Acting and working with children.
This then lead me onto becoming a teacher at Players In Education; the sister company of Players Drama School where my passion for teaching grew and grew. I then went on to teach drama at Our Lady’s Catholic High School and now teach for Players Drama School full time….
The Saturday school, the teen group, the after school clubs, Easter and summer schools, the whole shebang! I feel so lucky to be able to call this my job.
I see drama not only as a skill to develop, but as a form of expression, a lesson in confidence and most importantly a place to have fun. This is why teaching it is my passion. For me to have entered the doors of Players Drama School at the age of seven and to now be one of the drama teachers years later, it truly shows how much of a special place Players has in my heart.
It is my absolute privilege to be able to teach the new generation of Players pupils. Teaching them always leaves me with the biggest smile on my face!
Players Drama School has contributed massively to make me who I am today and so, it is truly an honour to be a part of.
