ACTING
I have always loved performing and at the age of seven, I became a pupil at Players Drama School where my love for performing arts grew and grew!
After graduating at the age of sixteen, I was offered the job of a ‘Big Sister’ on a Saturday; a role I had always looked up to as young pupil and always hoped I would be one day. Being a Big Sister meant that I was able to gain the experience of being a teaching assistant at a drama school whilst staying within the Players family and continuing my performance training at Runshaw College; where I completed the Level 3 Professional Performance Programme with a triple distinction star grade.
Girlguiding is also something I began from a young age, and volunteered as a Leader at my local Rainbows group as soon as I was old enough. I did this for 7 years and after completing my educational years, I discovered that the two things I loved were Acting and working with children.
I now teach the Saturday players, Teen group and direct the Summer and Easter schools! I have previously also taught drama at Our Lady’s High School, as well as at many primary schools for Players In Education.
Alongside teaching, I am also an actor. I work on tv and film sets and regularly attend screen acting sessions and casting director workshops and master classes. I do this to not only develop my own skills but to be able pass on as much industry knowledge to the next generation of performers.
I see drama not only as a skill to develop, but as a form of expression, a lesson in confidence and most importantly a place to have fun. This is why teaching it is my passion. For me to have entered the doors of Players Drama School at the age of seven and to now be one of the drama teachers, it truly shows how much of a special place Players has in my heart. It is my absolute privilege to be able to teach the new generation of Players pupils.
