What is our annual show? 

For those of you have never experienced our annual shows, you are certainly in for a treat. Our ‘big’ show is nothing like our showcases or our easter or summer school. This is a fully licensed show, professional auditions, an extensive rehearsal schedule, full costume and makeup, our very own set, lighting and sound technician, and a full audience to perform to across four nights 25th – 28th June 2025 at Preston Playhouse Theatre. We do not rehearse for our show during our regular Wednesday and Saturday workshops, our annual shows are completely separate.

All pupils in year R- Year 6 will perform in two of the four shows, once the show is cast they will be split into group 1 and group 2, group one will perform on Wednesday and Friday, and group two will perform on Thursday and Saturday. Pupils in year 7 – 13 will perform in all four shows.

Auditions

We invite all those in school year 4 and above to audition. Our auditions will be held on Sunday 26th January 2025 at Preston College. All audition material will be given out on our first Saturday/Wednesday in January. We will cast two Annie’s, two Miss Hannigan’s and possibly two of the other main roles, please see attached a character list, including a character breakdown and who can audition.

The day will consist of a general welcoming, a brief read thru, and then straight onto the auditions. We ask that all pupils only audition for 3 roles please. We will need to know this information in January, therefore please have a read and think of who you wish to audition for. Please do not be disheartened if we do not ask you to read all the material or sing all of the song. This is purely because of time constraints, please trust that we will get an idea of suitability immediately. If you do not get the role you auditioned for, we will cast you elsewhere.
You do not need to audition- Auditions are not compulsory. Some pupils may be taking part in the show for the theatre experience.

Children in year; Reception through to year three, and those who do not wish to audition will still be an integral part of the show. Our aim is for everyone to be comfortable and happy in rehearsals and on stage, therefore we will cast supporting roles and ensemble pieces and let everyone know their parts as soon as possible.

Fees

There is a one-off fee to cover rehearsal and performance costs. Full payment is due by 1st February 2025.  School year reception – Year 6 is a one off £40.00. Year 7 – Year 13 is a one off fee of £60.00. Fees to be paid to account below. 

Please make sure you reference your child’s name and AS (Annual Show) if you cannot fit your child’s full name, please put their first initial and their surname.

Tickets

Tickets will go on sale in January 2025 and will be £15.00 each. We ask that all pupils try to sell at least 4 tickets each. Tickets will be allocated seats and you can select your seats when booking. They will be given on a first come first served basis and in 2023 sold out on the first day!
