Workshop Structure
Classes are made up of 1 hour of Acting - Singing - Dance
These are taken by qualified motivated and caring staff who have all been C.R.B cleared and bring training and understanding to the special challenges of the theatre.
Classes are structured according to school years rather than age. We feel this suits the school and the pupils best. Pupils are kept within their own school year and not with older or younger pupils.
Pupils will receive tuition in Various Acting Techniques, Mime, Physical Theatre, Vocal work, Script Work, Devising, Contemporary & Street Dance, Singing, which all contribute to Confidence Building and Life Long skills.

After nearly 14 years at the players drama school we feel we have the right combination.

These classes are designed for pupils to enjoy using their voices and discover what sounds, noises they’ve not made before - again the emphasis on self development. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never sang before or feel you can’t sing the reason we introduced singing to the school was to strengthen your voice as an actor but if you manage to hit the right notes as well then your on your way to being a singer too – fantastic.
We don’t believe in just one style of singing but many so pupils can experience and enjoy the varied sounds their voices can produce. Therefore they will cover songs from ‘Musical Theatre’, Chart music, Songs from past decades and different countries as we believe in many styles not just the one. The theatre again is a great platform for pupils to develop their voices so they can be heard.
As all classes these are tailored to suit all pupils needs. Exploring body awareness pupils will learn basic dance techniques, spatial awareness, Different Rhythms and Styles to varying music as in the singing class.
Dance classes were introduced to help the acting department when pupils are on stage so that they feel more comfortable with general movement. But more often then not pupils find they love the dance styles introduced even if already trained in a technique. These classes definitely make sure pupils get their weekly dose of exercise.
We occasionally bring guests in to hold Master Classes in Physical Theatre, Acting, Percussion etc… so pupils have the opportunity to work with those that are working in the business.
For staff to become apart of our team they need to be highly experienced in their field and motivated at teaching children and teenagers. All classes with each instructor are extensively thought out and carefully planned in advance so there’s no need to worry about your child not being involved. Staff are C.R.B. checked and First Aid trained.
